Description

Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. (Hino Motors) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 XJC and XFC vehicles manufactured February 17, 2011, to October 31, 2014. The brake warning lamp that is supposed to illuminate in the event of a loss of brake fluid pressure or that there is low brake fluid may not operate correctly due to a software programming issue. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards No. 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems." If the warning lamp does not illuminate in the event of low pressure or low brake fluid volume, the driver will not be warned of the potential for a reduction or loss of braking capability, increasing the risk of a crash.
