Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain model year 2008-2011 Quantum fire apparatus manufactured February 21, 2008, to April 25, 2011. The mechanical springs used to return the accelerator pedal to idle after the driver lifts their foot off the pedal may break. If the springs break, the pedal may not return to idle once the driver lifts their foot off the pedal. This unintended acceleration increases the risk of a crash.
