Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Freightliner eCascadia vehicles. The e-axle planetary gear set may not be welded properly, which can cause the e-motor to detach from the final drive, resulting in an undetectable and sudden loss of drive power without the ability to restart the vehicle. An undetectable and sudden loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

What you should do
Dealers will inspect and replace the e-axle(s) as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 13, 2023. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL979.
