THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH A SLIDING SIDE-DOOR REAR LATCH THAT WAS IMPROPERLY RIVETED. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 206, "DOOR LOCKS AND DOOR RETENTION COMPONENTS." CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE DOOR WILL NOT PERFORM AS REQUIRED BY THE STANDARD.
